White plume moths (Pterophorus pentadactylus) mating. The name comes from the wings, which are divided into feather-like plumes. The white plume moth flies only at dawn and dusk and is common in fields, gardens and uncultivated areas. It is found all over Europe except on the Iberian peninsula. | |
