Jaundiced skin in alcoholism in a 58-year-old woman with liver disease. Jaundice is where the pigment bilirubin (usually excreted in the bile produced by the liver) builds up in the body and gives the skin a yellow colour. Treatment is of the underlying cause, in this case the liver damage caused by excessive alcohol consumption. | |
