Peking Man (Homo erectus pekinensis) model. Peking Man refers to a set of hominin fossils discovered in the 1920s near Beijing, China. The fossils date from around 750, 000 years ago. Homo erectus is the most widespread and longest-surviving of all the fossil hominins. Its geographical spread included north and east Africa, Europe, Indonesia and China.
