Natural gas pressure reduction station. When natural gas is distributed around a country in large bore pipes the pressure is very high. The gas comes out of ground at between 100-800 bars and this geopressure moves the gas through the grid. On reaching its destination the gas has to be passed through valves that reduce the pressure for domestic use at the district regulator station, about 1 bar.
