Prehistoric decorated potsherd, discovered in Malta. Fragment of pottery (potsherd) decorated with a solar wheel carving. The decoration shows a circle which is divided into eight sections by straight lines crossing at a small pit at the centre. Each section also has a pit at its centre. This artefact was found at the Hagar Qim site, which dates to the period 3600-3200 BC. Photographed at the National Museum of Archaeology in Valletta, Malta. | |
