Prehistoric clay statuette. Headless standing female statuette, made of clay, discovered in Malta. The left hand is folded across the abdomen beneath the breasts whilst the right arm rests on the thigh. The legs are together and are broken off at the feet. This figure is commonly referred to as the Venus of Malta. This artefact is from the Hagar Qim site. This site dates to the period 3600-3200 BC.
