Roman mosaic from Bulla Regia, Tunisia. This mosaic shows the face of a woman named Julia, and is in a corridor in the House of Amphitrite in Bulla Regia. Bulla Regia was the capital of one of the three kingdoms of the Numidians in the second century BC. Most of the Roman buildings were built in the 3rd century AD. The mosaic floors at Bulla Regia are among the finest produced by the Romans. Photographed in 2007. | |
