Mary Stuart MacDougall (born 1885), US biologist. MacDougall was educated at Randolph-Macon (graduating in 1912) and obtained her doctorate from Columbia University (1925). She received a Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship in 1931. She went on to be professor of biology and department head at Agnes Scott College, where she worked from 1920 to 1952. Her research focused on cytology and protozoology. For many years, she carried out teaching and research at the summer camps at the Marine Biological Laboratory at Woods Hole, Massachusetts, USA. Her publications included 'Biology: The Science of Life' (1943). | |
