Sivatherium, illustration. This extinct prehistoric mammal is an example of a giraffid, the living descendants of which are the giraffe and okapi. Sivatherium lived from 5 million to 8000 years ago, from the Pliocene to the Holocene. It reached large sizes, up to 3 metres in total height, with large antler-like ossicones. Its fossils have been found in Africa and Asia. | |
