The copper (II) oxide is an insoluble solid (black), while the copper (II) sulphate is soluble in water. A laboratory bottle of sulphuric acid is in the background. Under the new UN Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) this chemical requires a corrosive hazard label, GHS05. The pictogram warns that this strong acid (H2SO4) is extremely corrosive and causes severe skin burns and eye damage.
