Space tourism. Futuristic space tourism poster advertising the delights of Kepler-186f. Kepler-186f is the first Earth-sized planet to be found in another star's habitable zone, a region around a star where the surface temperature of a planet is suitable for liquid water. The planet, which is ten per cent larger than Earth, is found in the Kepler-186 system, approximately 500 light years from Earth in the constellation Cygnus. Its composition and mass are not known, but it is thought to be a rocky planet. Vegetation is depicted in red. Plant life might exhibit different colours on planets around other stars, depending on the star's spectrum of light. | |
