Coronary artery stent evaluation. Coloured 3D computed tomography (CT) angiography scan of the heart of a 45-year-old man who has had a stent (white, cylindrical, upper centre) fitted to a coronary artery following a heart attack. The heart attack was caused by narrowing or blockage of a coronary artery, with the stent fitted to hold the artery open and restore blood supply to the heart muscle. This stent was fitted to the anterior interventricular branch of the left coronary artery (also called the left anterior descending artery, LAD). | |
