BepiColombo spacecraft solar panels test. BepiColombo 7.5-metre-long solar wing fully extended during testing at ESA's test centre at ESTEC, the Netherlands. This is the rear of the solar panels, with cabling that will eventually be connected to the main spacecraft body. BepiColumbo is a joint mission of the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) to explore Mercury. Scheduled for launch in 2018, it will arrive at Mercury in 2025. it has three components: ESA's Mercury Transfer Module (MTM), ESA's Mercury Planetary Orbiter (MPO) and JAXA's Mercury Magnetospheric Orbiter (MMO).
