The lavandin oil laden steam is drawn into a bank of condenser spirals and sprayed with cold water. The condensed liquid is then drawn off into a settling tank where the oil rises to the top and is separated out. This is a modern version of the alembic distillation process. Lavandin is a lavender hybrid used for commercial perfumes. The yield is 1 litre per 50 to 250 kilos of cuttings but Lavandin can produce up to 7 time greater yield than lavender. It will be added to many products as an essential oil perfume. Products like cosmetics, washing powder, candles, soap, and various cleaners. Provence, France. | |
