Testicular cancer. Close-up of the scrotum of a 60-year-old male patient with a seminoma affecting the left testicle (right), causing it to become enlarged. Seminoma is a malignant (cancerous) germ cell tumour that originates in the seminiferous tubules of the testes (testicles). It is the most common form of testicular cancer and occurs most often in men between the age of 30 to 45 years. It usually presents as a firm painless lump on a testicle. In 90 per cent of cases surgical removal of the testicle leads to a cure. | |
