Little tern conservation. Little tern (Sternula albifrons) in flight while nesting (three eggs at lower centre) in an area of beach protected by an electric fence. This seabird breeds in coastal areas and waterways in temperate and tropical regions of Europe and Asia. It lays two to four eggs directly on the ground. These eggs and the mother are being protected from predators such as foxes as part of animal conservation work in the area. Photographed in June 2016, in Denbighshire, Wales. | |
