Proxima is the nearest star to the Sun. It is a dim red dwarf, smaller than our Sun and many thousands of times brighter. Here we see it seen with an orbiting rocky planet, recently discovered, called Proxima b. At the bottom, just above the horizon is a yellow star. This is the Sun. Viewed from Proxima, our Sun is just another star – and an additional member of the constellation Cassiopeia, whose distinctive W-shape is seen bottom right. | |
