Yellow fever camp. Camp E.A. Perry, a detention camp established by the U.S. Marine Hospital Service on the border between Georgia and Florida, USA, during the yellow fever epidemic of 1888. People travelling from yellow fever areas were required to remain in the camp for the incubation period (6-10 days) before proceeding elsewhere. There were many such public health measures against yellow fever outbreaks over the period 1878-1905. This was the last major yellow fever epidemic in the United States. | |
