Stroke assessment. 50-year-old man who is undergoing an assessment following a stroke (cerebrovascular accident). Stroke, or cerebrovascular accident (CVA), is brain damage caused by the interruption of the brain's blood supply or by the leakage of blood through blood vessel walls. Strokes vary in severity with tests carried out to determine the effects of a minor stroke. This patient is having tests carried out on his ability to move his eyes in a co-ordinated fashion. This test involves the standard 'positions of gaze' used by ophthamologists. | |
