Henry Isenberg (1922-2006), American microbiologist, studying sperm samples at the Long Island Jewish Hospital Infertility Clinic in 1956. Henry D. Isenberg was born in Germany in 1922. He emigrated alone to the United States at the age of 14 to escape Nazi persecution and settled in New York. He was chief of microbiology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, which developed from a community hospital into a major medical facility under his tenure. He published more than 50 books on diverse subjects in the field of microbiology. | |
