Jesse Walter Fewkes (1850 - 1930), American anthropologist, archaeologist, writer and naturalist. Fewkes initially trained as a zoologist, but later turned to ethnological studies of the native tribes of the American Southwest. He documented the lifestyle and rituals of the Zuni and Hopi tribes, and later researched the precolumbian sites of Puerto Rico, Haiti, Cuba, Trinidad, and the Lesser Antilles. | |
