William Lamb, 16th-century English philanthropist, shown holding sacks of money below a portico inscribed with the year 1612. Lamb funded the rebuilding of the Holborn Conduit (Lamb's Conduit) in 1577, a dam in London on a tributary of the River Fleet. Lamb gave £1500 towards the rebuilding, a vast sum of money at the time. This bust was erected in the Chapel of the Clothworkers' Almshouses, Cripplegate. The bust is now in St James's, Islington, which was the chapel for the Clothworkers Guild in the 19th century.
