Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko from Rosetta. This comet is around 3.5 by 4 kilometres. This is the Ma'at region on the small lobe of the comet. Just right of centre is the area where the European Space Agency's Rosetta spacecraft is planned to make a controlled impact 30 September 2016,bring the mission to a close. Rosetta was launched in March 2004 on a 10 year mission to reach this comet. It entered orbit on 6 August 2014 at a point in the comet's orbit beyond the orbit of Mars. The first mission designed to land on a comet,it is carrying instruments and a lander to map and study the comet's surface and core.
