Leopard frog tadpole. Leopard frog tadpole (Rana pipiens) clinging to a submerged branch. The tadpole hatched from an egg laid in still freshwater in spring. After three months the tadpole will metamorphose into a frog. The leopard frog is terrestrial,apart from during the breeding season. It is found in much of North America and mainly eats insects.
