Sea goldie fish (Pseudanthias squamipinnis) shoaling over coral. This is a territorial fish that inhabits coral reefs throughout the tropical Indo-Pacific region. Males, which can grow to twice the size of the females, keep harems in well-defended territories on the reef. The sea goldie,or fairy basslet, feeds mainly on plankton, and the males can reach 15 centimetres in length. Photographed in Indonesia | |
