Lion sea slugs feeding. The lion or hooded sea slug (Melibe leonina) gets its name from a large expandable oral hood. The hood is fringed with sensory tentacles that are used to catch small crustaceans. This is a true sea slug or nudibranch,which can grow up to 9 centimetres in length.
