Brocchi's Cluster (Cr 399). This group of stars is also known as 'The Coathanger'. It is not one of the classical constellations, but it is a striking and recognisable group of stars (asterism) that is visible to the naked eye. Similarly,it is not a true star cluster and the stars are not physically close to each other. The triangular shape is best seen through a telescope. Only the brightest stars make up the actual shape of the asterism,as the background stars are often too faint to be seen with the naked eye. Brocchi's Cluster is in the constellation of Vulpecula | |
