She is undergoing local radiotherapy treatment with the SIRT (selective internal radiation therapy) technique. This treatment involves injecting tiny microspheres of radioactive material (from the device at centre) into the arteries that supply the cancerous tumour. An X-ray scanner (not seen) positioned over the patient is used to help position the injected materials
