Grey Wolf. View of a solitary grey wolf (Canis lupus) running through snow. A fully grown grey wolf has a body length of up to 140 cm and a body weight of up to 80 kg. It preys on large herbivores such as elk,deer,bison and mountain sheep. The grey wolf lives in packs of 5-15 individuals. It is found mainly in North America and Asia,however there are residual populations in Mexico,Europe and Scandinavia. The grey wolf is an endangered species in all American states except Alaska.
