They live together as a family unit and are weaned at around 30 months. Polar bears reach sexual maturity between 5-6 years,and from then on live a solitary life,only coming together to breed. Polar bears inhabit the ice floes and coastal waters of the Arctic region. It is one of the largest land carnivores,reaching up to 2.5 metres in length and weighing over 800 kilograms.
