Ring-tailed lemurs (Lemur catta) with a baby clinging to its mother's back. Lemurs are endemic to Madagascar,where it inhabits both scrub and forest. Its body grows up to 40cm in length and its tail can reach 60 centimetres in length. The ring-tailed lemur is different from other lemur species in that it spends more time on the ground. Its main food includes leaves,flowers and fruit but it will also eat egs and insects. It is a very social animal living in matriarchal groups of up to thirty individuals.
