Hood mockingbird (Nesomimus macdonaldi) feeding on a sea urchin. This bird is endemic to the island of Espanola in the Galapagos. It is an omnivore and opportunist,feeding on a varied diet that includes fruits,eggs,insects,carrion,small vertebrates and marine arthropods. It also drinks blood from the wounds of larger animals and placentas.
