House wren (Troglodytes aedon) feeding its chick at its nest. This small bird is found throughout the Americas. It nests in holes and crevices,laying between 5 and 8 eggs. These are incubated for about two weeks,and the young take up to 18 days to fledge. The house wren feeds on insects and other small invertebrates,and can reach a length of 12 centimetres.
