Wheatear. Historical artwork of a wheatear (Oenanthe oenanthe),a small,ground-dwelling bird. It feeds on insects and other small invertebrates. It is a migrant,spending the summer in Britain and other parts of Eurasia,and wintering in central Africa. This is a male wheatear: the female lacks the grey head and neck,and black eye stripe.
