Panther chameleon (Furcifer pardalis) on a branch. Panther chameleons are indigenous to the tropical forests of Madagascar and are often very brightly coloured. Colouration varies with location and the different colour patterns of panther chameleons, commonly referred to as 'locales',are named after the geographical location in which they are found. Male panther chameleons are generally much more vibrantly coloured than the females. Photographed in the Montagne des Francais Reserve,Madagascar | |
