Lacy scorpionfish (Rhinopias aphanes). This solitary fish camouflages itself against corals and sponges waiting to ambush its prey of crustaceans and small fish. It inhabits the Indo- Pacific region and reaches lengths of 25 centimetres. It has a row of spines on its back that are linked to poison glands. When threatened it raises the spines in defence.
