Sea slug or nudibranch (Notodoris serenae). This sea slug is found in the shallow waters of the Indo-Pacific region, feeding on sponges. Nudibranch means naked gills, but this sea slug possesses arched appendages (blue/black,upper frame) which cover its gills. Its two rhinophores (yellow, lower right) are used to sense chemicals in the water. Sea slugs feed on invertebrates, often storing toxins from their prey for use in defence against predators.
