Spider's egg nest. The egg sac has been suspended between a group of trees. Female spiders first store their eggs in spherical egg sacs which they carry on their bodies. As the eggs develop the sac is hung on vegetation by spinning a 'nursery' tent of silk around it. Spider's silk is made of a protein polymer called fibrobin. It is very elastic and can be stretched 30-40% of its length before it breaks | |
