Jumping spider head (family Salticidae),coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM). A jumping spider stalks its prey before leaping on it from a few centimetres away. Four pairs of eyes (red) lie on its head. The large chelicerae (at lower centre) are pincers that are used to tear up its food.
