Tiger moth larva. Macrophotograph of the underside of the larva of a tiger moth (family Arctiidae) climbing a twig. This caterpillar belongs to a group of stout, hairy larvae which feed on low-growing plants. It will pupate in a flimsy cocoon which is partly composed of its long hairs. Its adhesive false "feet" (orange) help it to climb vegetation to feed. Magnification unknown | |
