Polyrhachis laboriosa ants attacking an intruder. The intruder here is of the same species but belongs to a different colony. The intruder is surrounded by 10 ants, who will eventually kill it by spraying a jet of formic acid from their abdomens. This African ant species is endemic to Cameroon and lives in trees at the edges of tropical forests. It feeds on honeydew produced by aphids, flower nectar, and sugary exudes from young leaves.
