This sequence,by the British- American photographer Eadweard James Muybridge (1830-1904),was published in the book Animal Locomotion (1887). The action runs from right to left,seen from the side at top and from the front at middle and then bottom. Muybridge pioneered the use of high-speed photography and used novel techniques to analyse animal and human locomotion.
