Cassiopeia constellation,15th century artwork. Engraving of Queen Cassiopeia chained to her throne,with Latin text. Cassiopeia was the mother of Andromeda,the princess rescued from a sea monster by the Greek hero Perseus. In one version of the legend,Cassiopeia was chained to her throne as punishment from the gods for bragging. The black asterisks show the position of the stars that make up this constellation.
