EDITORIAL USE ONLY. Drying wet books with Zorbix. Researcher placing sheets of Zorbix inside a wet book. Using Zorbix every 10 pages and changing the sheets when full, can dry a wet book within a few hours. Zorbix was invented by the US company Artifex, together with the National Agricultural Library of the US Department of Agriculture. It absorbs up to 50 times its own weight of water. The water is soaked up by a super-absorbent starch-based polymer contained inside the packaging. Zorbix is designed to be as thin as possible,so it can be placed between the pages of wet books and dry them without swelling and damaging them. Photographed in the USA | |
