ENIAC digital calculator. Technicians working with the ENIAC device,a digital calculator that was built at the University of Pennsylvania,USA,from 1943-46. ENIAC stands for Electronic Numeric Integrator And Calculator. The women are moving wires to change the connections between the 18,000 valves,thus changing the calculating 'program'. Although not a true computer,ENIAC is considered the second general purpose electronic calculator (after the British COLOSSUS).
