The burning of coal drives the turbines to generate electricity. This is distributed through the electricity substation into the national grid system. This is the Drax power station near Selby,North Yorkshire,UK. This view looks east from the smaller of the two Drax chimneys. As of 2006,Drax is the largest,cleanest and most efficient of the UK's coal-fired power stations.
