Starbirth region NGC 7129,infrared Spitzer Space Telescope (SST) image. The SST's infrared imaging sees past clouds of dust to newborn stars inside active nebulae. The NGC 7129 nebula is around 10 light years across. It contains some 130 newborn stars. The green area (lower centre) contains the newest stars, whose strong solar winds have blown away surrounding dust. Slightly older stars, which are less active, are found in the pink areas. In the surrounding area (dark),there are protostars, forming from collapsing gas and dust clouds. NGC 7129,which is in the constellation of Cepheus,is about 3330 light years from Earth.
