Cassiopeia and Cepheus constellations. Cassiopeia is the W-shape of five bright stars at lower left, which represents the throne of the queen with the same name in Greek mythology. Cepheus, the king and Cassiopeia's husband in the myth,is represented by the stars at centre right. The bright star at top centre in Polaris (Alpha Ursae Minoris) in the neighbouring constellation Ursa Minor, the little bear. Polaris is the northern Pole Star, which, being above the north pole on Earth, appears to stay stationary while all the other stars rotate around it | |
