The scorpion was the creature whose sting killed Orion,so the gods placed them on opposite sides of the sky. But the scorpion is itself being threatened by the arrow of Sagittarius,which is aimed straight at Antares,the red giant that is the alpha star & heart of Scorpius,seen here at lower centre. The Sun is in Scorpius from 24 October to 21 November
