Saturn from Mimas. Artwork of Saturn seen from above Mimas, one of its moons. Mimas is a small moon, just over 400 kilometres in diameter, but it is dominated by the huge crater Herschel, which is 130 kilometres across itself. If the impacting body had been any larger,it is likely that Mimas would have been destroyed. Mimas orbits Saturn at a distance of 185,000 kilometres, taking just under a day to complete each orbit | |
